"Discharged to early"

About: Kettering General Hospital / Maternity

Recently I was admitted to the rockingham wing for induction of labour, overall I can not fault the staff they were brilliant however due to the hospital pressures my experience wasn't great. I overheard the midwifes saying there was no beds on labour ward which instantly made me feel anxious however working in the NHS myself I understand the bed pressures. I wasn't transferred to the labour ward until I was 9cm dilated at a point where I had recieved no adequate pain relief and by this time was to late. Personally I felt sorry for the midwife who looked after me in rowan ward as they had 8 patients with 3 of us who were in established labour and ideally should of had one to one care by this stage. From the moment my daughter was born in the early hours i felt that there was a rush for me to be discharged home which resulted in me being discharged 4 and a half hours after birth. Again I can not fault the midwifes care and support from beginning to end overall they worked as a team to ensure my baby was delievered safely without any complications.
