Went in for induction, was given a pessary. I wish I was given more information about this at the time br later heard a different wife giving information to another mother so I picked up stuff from there. Obviously the experience of being touched down below can be uncomfortable. In the morning, I wasn't checked on a lot. If I was told half an hour, sometimes it would be 45 minutes to an hour when I would be looked at but it all depended on the midwife. Also midwives didn't really come and say bye to you so I didn't even know whn there would be a change of midwife!
Labour experience - fantastic. I was checked and sent down to labour ward. The midwives in there and student midwife were absolutely fantastic. I have nothing but great words to say about them and I am forever grateful for how calm and collected they were in the situation. I know it's their job but I felt like is as guided through the whole thing quite quickly.
I did tear - the midwife who stitched me up (yikes) was bloomin fantastic! With a smile on their face, they fixed me all up and kept me laughing through the awful experience. Thank you !
Thank you to the midwives who helped me to breastfeed. Although some were a bit pushy I guess I was glad that they were cos I really did want to breastfeed! Just be careful not to give your own opinions and talk about your own experiences as one midwife assistant who took my bloods did this and felt slightly uncomfortable.
Leavingn the unit was easy as 1, 2, 3.
Wish we could've have more in the bounty pack !!
Thank you to the labour ward midwives!! 100% pleaded with my labour experience.
Baby and mummy are happy and healthy!
