Just to say in brief that I found the maternity services at New Cross hospital to be fantastic. I couldn't give any more stars but would definitely give more than 5 if possible. The hospital staff quite literally saved mine and my baby's life.
Long story short it was a difficult labour and I ended up having to have a caesarian. My daughter began to panic as she could not leave the womb and her heart rate was too high. My heart rate also went up and it was to a point where we could have both had a heart attack. Luckily the staff got her out in time and took very care of us throughout and after the operation.
Since the operation I haven't had any problems with the scar and have healed to a point where I am now having a healthy second pregnancy.
May I also add that the food on the ward was delicious.
Although it was a terrifying experience I can't thank the staff on maternity enough for the care me and my daughter received. I know the NHS is strained but I think they do a pretty good job with what they can. They were quite literally life savers and I will never be thankful enough.
