I would like to express my sincere thanks to the doctor and nursing staff who looked after me yesterday evening when I came into the A&E department with chest pains and in a state of distress.
Like most people in this situation, I had put off seeing my GP for a couple of weeks hoping the pain would just go away, and not wanting to waste anyone's time.
I was assured several times that I was not wasting anyone's time and in fact was gently admonished by the triage nurse for not having come in to A&E beforehand.
I was seen and treated within 2 hours including an ECG and full blood tests.
The doctor I saw was courteous, knowledgeable and above all reassuring.
They showed me the results of all of the tests and took the time to explain the results in detail.
They also then discussed a future treatment plan for me to deal with any further symptoms.
I left the hospital feeling that I had not just been treated, but properly cared for which is quite different.
Thank you very much.
