Whilst I appreciate that parking has always been very difficult for staff, patients and their relatives at Hairmyres, over the last few months it has become almost impossible to find a space if you arrive later than 9am.
Yesterday I noted on leaving that many cars had been stickered, for parking up on pavements, which are not used by anyone, and are not causing any kind of obstruction, and if you park on the main access roads to the hospital, not on lined areas, you get angry letters from residents.
Today it took me 45 minutes of touring every car park on the site to eventually be lucky enough to find a space, and I know from irate patients attending for appointments this is common practice.
Whilst I realise there is little the trust can do to stop parking for the train station, it is really frustrating in the morning to see the snail trail of people leaving the car parks in the direction of the station.
Having to leave home more than an hour early, either as a patient, relative or staff member to simply find a parking space is not really acceptable & I hope this could be looked at again.
Many people do not live on a serviced public service route.
