"Probably the worst nurse I have come across"

I was visiting my elderly mother on the Ark Royal ward in the Gosport War Memorial. I was greeted very abruptly by a nurse when I got to the ward who barked at my husband and I that it was meal times and we could not stay to visit, being our first visit to this hospital we were unaware of the visiting hours.

I did try to ask when the visiting hours were, the reply I received was 'not now'. I explained that it was our first visit, apologised, and asked if we could spend just a few moments with my mother. This nurse reluctantly allowed us to stay for 10 minutes.

Whilst I appreciate we were there at the incorrect time I am appalled to have been spoken to in such a manner! I unfortunately will have to visit my mother again but please be assured I will get this nurses name and pass it on!!
