April House does unfortunately have a wait for their service and they manage this as effectively as they can by prioritising treatment based on medical need. This is why it is important that a service user on the waiting list sees their GP for medical monitoring so that any increased concerns about their physical health can then be raised with April House by the GP.

April House advises that your daughter sees her GP in the first instance and that if there are significant concerns about her physical health that the GP liaises directly with them.

We are very sorry that your daughter has to wait for therapy and understand that any wait is a worrying and distressing experience for you all.

If you would like to discuss this further please contact the Customer Experience team on 02380 874065 or by email: hp-tr.customerexperience@nhs.net and we will be happy to make further enquires to help your daughter.

Kindest regards

Jane Tibble

I thank you for the response and I totally understand what you are saying. What I dont understand is that my daughter has been diagnosed by a professional from the April house team with Bulimia and then just left without treatment.I can assure you from then till now her state of mind and condition has worsened.Surely it will save a lot of time and money if she could just be seen by a therapist to be given some guidance especially to prevent other serious medical conditions to develop.I don't understand how it can be left without treatment until it gets so bad that it will take months or years to fix. Visits to the GP does not help anymore. A GP is not trained to do counselling that is why the GP referred her to April house.
