"Four month wait for an Ultrasound cancelled"

About: Central Middlesex Hospital

Four months since diagnosis of kidney stones following two renal colic attacks, six prescriptions and today a wasted journey to Central Middlesex Hospital / Northwick Hospital later I was told my appointment was cancelled because the consultant was unavailable. A new appointment has been rescheduled for two months time. The two nurses(?) apologised saying that this happens all the time, one escorting me to the complaint office, of which was closed because the 'officer is unavailable'

My GP says an untra sound is 'urgently' needed to assess the size and location of the stone, never mind the six to eight month wait after that to operate.

Let's hope I don't get addicted to the 'highly addictive' painrelief I've been prescribed in the total of what will by then be a six month wait for an ultrasound-perhaps I should just buy one on eBay and do it myself - no wonder so many people self medicate with paper pushing rodents like I've had the displeasure of meeting running the NHS.
