Had a successful Right full joint knee operation in 2015 and was told prior to that my left knee was in the same condition and also needed the same procedure. Have now seen the specialist three time and have been told I need to lose weight to have the left knee procedure. I saw the specialist this last a few days ago. Was told that my BMI was too high as the criteria had been changed to financial restraints and nothing to do with medical requirements. I feel that due to these restraints I will not get my other knee done unless I lose weight, but the surgery was done some 18 months previous and was a success allowing me to carry on working but now I struggle with the left knee and my occupation is now threatened and my mental state this last week has been very low and have had to take the week off. I have an appointment for 7 months time and if I do not lose the weight I will not get on the list for the operation. I feel so depressed about the situation.
