"Amazing staff for my son's fractured wrist"

About: St Mary's Hospital (Newport)

(as a parent/guardian),

My son hurt his wrist so I took him to A&E where it was discovered that he had fractured his wrist.

All of the staff on his journey were amazing. My son has special needs and everyone was very understanding and extra helpful. From receptionist, to A&E nurse and consultant and most especially Dee from the plaster room in the fracture clinic.

She has been exceptional with my son who I had to take back two weeks after the event to get the plaster changed as my son has chewed his cast. She could not do enough to help, an absolute credit to the hospital.

Dear Ms Smith

Many thanks for posting this positive feedback about your son's care following hurting his wrist.

It was great to read that all the staff on your son's journey were amazing, and were understanding and helpful.

Your comments have been shared with the teams, including Dee and I am sure they will join me in hoping your son continues to recover well post his injury.
