Dear Palletman

I’m very sorry that you had difficulties parking before your recent appointment.

Unfortunately the car parking spaces do get occupied quickly, and the pressure on our car park increased following our local council implementing resident only parking in a number of roads around the hospital site. We are not able to increase the capacity of our car park, as the council control planning permission for car parking and they have to comply with national environmental policies.

We do have local transport information on our website which may help you when next visiting the hospital.

You can find it at http://www.northmid.nhs.uk/Contact-Us/Finding-us

As stated the parking was just the first disaster at that hospital, sitting waiting for nearly Two hours past my appointment time with zero explanation from staff and even less idea of when likely to get seen.

I would also like to bring to your attention the car park again, you'd prefer patients to pay by card as do all car parks now for ease so the cash element is taken away, yet you charge more for this service and that is only stated at the end of the call, might only be a small amount but in my view thats what an awfull practise, What a waste of money building lovely new hospital.

Dear Palletman

The Estates and Facilities manage the car parking service within the hospital. Unfortunately the majority of car parking today in London is chargeable. At North Middlesex we have one of the lowest tariffs for parking compared with the surrounding hospitals. Our aim has been to cover land charges but provide a safe and managed service for patient, visitors and staff. We have 6 pay and display machines on site to provide a facility to pay by cash. We provided the facility to pay by card to accommodate the growing number of people who do not carry cash. However, we agree that further charges should not be added to those people using a card so we are presently looking at changing the car parking provisions within the hospital. The new contractor will begin on the 1st June with several months of operational installation planned. Thank you for your input we welcome feedback as we continue to improve our services.

Well as stated the car park was just the first problem but seems this hospital like to concentrate their response to just the car park faults and say nothing of the service I received by unhelpful staff with not even a answer to a simple question like, iv been here two hours past my appointment time when am I likely to get seen, not really an unreasonable question yet staff gave no answer and now the director of nursing and midwifery chooses to ignore it.
