"She is a real asset to the ward and to Hairmyres Hospital."

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / General Medicine (Wards 9-12)

(as the patient),

I was a patient for an overnight in Hairmyres Hospital, and having been in the hospital for some weeks prior, I was immediately impressed by how the ward run, under nurse Frances.

It was evident that she was knowledgable, organised and caring, and the ward ran like clockwork. I had a temperature and was sweating and during her busy morning at the end of her night shift she took time out to take me for a shower which I was really grateful for.

Frances is very much a key team player - I hear her supporting the staff and doctors, and organising their day, which obviously leads to increased morale. She has invested her limited time with me recently by listening to my concerns and allaying my fears.

She is a real asset to the ward and to Hairmyres Hospital.

Dear Jacqui5634,

We will be sure to pass on your comments to Frances and the Ward team as it's always great to get such positive feedback.

Sorry for the delay to response however this post was accidentally logged under medical when it should have been our orthopaedic ward.

kind regards

Gwen
