I was operated on on a Saturday. Each and every member of staff was incredibly courteous, caring and professional and really put me at ease. It was eerily quiet at the weekend but that suited me just fine, especially as there was a six hour wait from arriving to the actual call for surgery, though I was told about this pretty much as soon as I arrived and I'm patient as a patient! Surgery was neatly done and the anaesthetist did a super job as I woke up feeling like I'd had a nice dream with none of the expected nausea or vomiting. When the nurses changed shift they were good enough to reassure me who was taking over and that they knew exactly where I was up to in recovery.
The pre-op assessment was in a grim building (Mint Wing) but again the staff were excellent and the whole process very efficient.
