So, I have just paid my £40 parking fine!
I attended hospital for day surgery in January.
Arrived at car park which allowed me to enter only to find car park full and chaotic.
No available parking spaces with many people driving around in hope of somebody leaving.
After spending several frustrating minutes of finding nowhere I had 2 choices- either just leave and miss my appointment as by then it was my due appointment time and too late to try to find parking away from the hospital or park illegally on a back road (without causing any obstruction).
I chose to stay.
I received a parking ticket, appealed due to mitigating circumstances and this was rejected.
So a few queries:
Why is there no 'car park full' sign to at least give people the chance of finding alternative parking?
Why does the barrier allow in all cars despite there being no available places?
Why were there 3 uniformed parking attendants laughing and joking together by the pay station instead of at least trying to help motorists?
And finally, what would you advise anyone else in this situation ?
