"Refused hip replacement"

About: Spire Wellesley Hospital

After being refused hip replacement surgery last year at this Hospital and after being seen by another Consultant who also refused surgery ( I was an NHS patient ) I am now pleased that I was put back under the care of Southend University Hospital and under the care of a truly polite and charming Consultant who treated me with the dignity and respect I deserved, unlike what I got at the spire Wellsley hospital.I am so happy I have now had my hip replacement done and are recovering well at home, Southend University Hospital is under a lot of pressure but at least you are treated like a human being not just as a money ticket !!

Thank you for submitting your comment on the service you received at the hospital.

We are sorry that both Consultants’ decisions resulted in you not completing your surgery with us at the hospital and would assure you that we aim to provide high quality care to all patients whether privately funded or through the NHS.

I am glad that you have now had your surgery and hope your recovery is going well.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me at the hospital on 01702 600160 if I can be of further help.

Matt Calver

Hospital Director
