At the age of 91, I recently had a fall and fractured my pelvis, spending 2 weeks on Ward 14.
I'd recently read a letter from a man in the Bromsgrove Advertiser complaining about everything and everyone, so wondered what I was in for.
From the minute the ambulance picked me up (4 to 5 minutes! ! ) the care was wonderful. Not too long a wait in A & E, and the staff and facilities on Ward l4 were so good. Lovely atmosphere and nothing too much trouble. The nurses had the patience of Job.
I did try not to bother them too much and in fact I liked the food so much I sent a message down to the Caterers - well balanced and attractive menus.
The staff worked so hard - one night there was only one nurse for the whole ward. She was so tired in the morning, but still so efficient and pleasant.
I could carry on, but I'd bore you to death!
I hadn't been in hospital since my eldest son was born 67 years ago, so it was interesting to see the changes since then.
Now at home, and the care and advice continues.
Please convey my heartfelt thanks to them all, and I do hope "the Alex" will always be there for us.
PS: I've no objection to you sending this to the "Bromsgrove Advertiser" or "Standard"
