"Excellent care"

About: Horton General Hospital / Cardiology

I was admitted following a heart attack on 25th November 2016. I was seen in A&E very quickly, although there were many others waiting, and my heart attack was confirmed. My treatment started immediately and my pain was abated in a short time, The staff in A&E were attentive and efficient, the tests required were done rapidly and I was admitted to Laburnum ward, where I was given every care, seeing one doctor after another until things were stable.

I eventually got to sleep about 1.30, shortly after a doctor visited me and through their help, lost the last of my pain. The staff in the following two days were caring, cheerful and attentive, even though they were clearly under pressure.

The noise of machinery beeping was unfortunately a constant interruption to sleep but otherwise All staff - including of course the nurses, cleaners, tea and dinner ladies and gentlemen and admin staff, were encouraging and made the experience so much better than it could have been at this terrifying time for me. I was subsequently taken to the JR in Oxford for angiography and stent fitting, but was returned the next day to Laburnum ward, where I was immediately told that transport would be provided to take me home, something the JR most badly failed to do, sayingIi would need to take two buses home on a freezing day.

Laburnum could not have been kinder or more considerate. Thanks to all.
