My aged father had keyhole surgery.
The procedure was explained and pre-op care was good.
However, post surgery he was in for three days.
Wearing the same gown in which he was operated in, with nursing staff who refused to accept that his catheta was leaking, despite the evidence in his bed.
The result of lying in unchanged bedding was leaving with 'nappy rash'.
Also given no post-op care details and no follow up appointment for 6 months rather than the suggested 6-weeks. Since that op he has had sepsis twice, and been in West Suffolk Hospital; there is a potential risk of further surgery in Addenbrooks, and my father is frightened at that possibility.
