Urology Team. Excellent care, dignity, reassurance and a skilled caring surgeon. My husband was diagnosed with penile cancer last November. Since then we have needed to attend the hospital for consultations. scans, the operation and follow up appointment. All very daunting for my husband, myself and our family. The care we received from all the staff at the hospital along the way has been exceptional. We have been given time and reassurance by all staff who have explained to us any concerns and anxieties. I understand the surgeon has great expertise in their field and this very much gave my husband confidence about the surgery. I would also like to comment on their reassurance and compassion to me. I asked a lot of questions and I know they sensed my fears. I appreciated the time and sensitivity the surgeon gave me with answering my concerns. We think the Urology team are outstanding. My husband has needed care from the Community Intervention Service team and District Nurses after discharge from hospital. Again this care has been excellent as has the out of hours Doctors on the occasions we have needed to call them. We have a wonderful NHS and we am pleased to comment on this and thank everyone. My husband is well and cancer free, we feel very blessed.
