I had an appointment at the Nutrition and dietetics clinic for my toddler daughter. I am coming from 45 mins away, had some difficulty finding parking and went to the adults Nutrition and dietetics clinic. It turned out that when I arrived at the right clinic I was 20 mins late. The desk attendant told me right away that I would have to make another appointment. They then went on to say that it was unfair to the other patients if they let me in. I asked for the name of the manager, and ended up in another area of the hospital. I waited 25 mins for the manager who told me that arriving 20.mins late is too late and offered that I wait from 1000 till 1400 hrs to be seen. I found this behaviour to be inconsiderate and unprofessional. Not only was it clearly assumed that I can be available on a whim but there was clearly pure neglect of humanity. Have a toddler wait for four hours? I turned up for the appointment and then be expected to re-book while I am already there. Is this how Bedford Hospital treat it's community, with no respect?
