About: Crosshouse Hospital / Stroke Care

(as a relative),

My husband suffered a massive stroke, He clung to life and after clot treatment survived. The care he received in ICU was absolutely amazing. The Drs, nurses and auxiliaries were all complete professionals and above all caring. They also looked after me and my family in our extremely distressed state and went above and beyond to help ease our suffering. After 10 days S was well enough to be moved to ward 3E where the care and attention continued to be first class. The staff are all amazing and genuinely care about S and again helped me and our family and friends deal with coming to terms with what happened to him. 4 weeks of exemplary care and S is being moved to Station 16 at Ayr where hopefully this experience continues in the same way

Dear Blue452,

I am so sorry to hear of how ill your husband has been. What a difficult time you and your family must have had. On the other hand, I am very pleased you found such a caring, helpful staff, it makes such a difference.

In the winter months the staff are under such pressure, so to hear this in January is truly a testament to the teams.

I hope your husband's care and rehabilitation continues in the same manner as his care to date. Thank you so much for sharing this with us,
