I decided to give birth at Tameside hospital as it is very close to where I live but would highly recommend it now to others. From the minute I went in when my waters broke on 2nd Feb at 19:00 I was seen by a very nice midwife who was there later when I returned to give birth.
They really helped keep me calm whilst I dilated. In the end I had to have a c section and again all the doctors and everyone else in theatre were very nice and talked me through why I had to have a section and kept me calm given this was our first baby. Once up on the ward (I was there for 3 days) I was pleasantly surprised by how helpful the midwifes were considering how busy they were. I had trouble getting my baby to feed and the midwife in charge was very helpful and understanding during this stressful time. The midwife who started me off in labour even took the time out to come up and see me on the ward on her next next shift and talked me through winding and bottle feeding. I would definitely have another there if I ever decide to put myself through it all again.
"Staff so helpful"
