I am absolutely shocked, astounded and disgusted with the attitude of one of the psychiatrists on the mental health ward. My mother is nearly 70 years old, has severe depression, extreme anxiety and a serious sleeping problem and needs serious help, which is clearly isn't getting. She voluntarily admitted herself into hospital, nothing is being done to help her, other than pump a load of unhelpful drugs into her system, making her worse, no empathy, no sympathy or patience or care. Every time she expresses how she feels, she's marched back into her room and the door is closed with no support and no activities to do all day. The worst thing is - she asked to go home (as she's desperate, vulnerable and lonely, to which her pyschiatrist replied "what for? To jump out the window or try to take another overdose??" Yes she is suicidal God bless her, but what an obnoxious disgusting attitude to have. Okay this doctor may be qualified up to their ears, but with that attitude, they should not be working with vulnerable people. I am absolutely beyond dismay and shocked and utterly ashamed that this is the system we pay taxes for. To make things even worse, she was told today she has to go to another hospital (which made her worse last time), because her bed is needed!!!! Needed???? And she doesn't need it???? A lady who cannot get better or her life back together as there is no help and a load of drugs pumped into her and the bed is needed?!!!! Does no one care for my mum because she's elderly??? What is it????!!! I want answers please before I take this complaint further - I am savage.
