"attendance at hospital"

About: King's College Hospital (Denmark Hill) / Accident and emergency

My wife attended a and e department twice last week first time even so the white cells indicating an infection was high she was sent home with very little informations as to what the cause was, The second time the manners of the doctor who examined her were very abrupt and almost offensive, the consultant who saw her at the end was nice but very short of informations they assured her that the xrays taken that day were clear and reffered her to medical assessment centre. Arriving at this centre she was asked what made her come to this centre. Only then she was told that she was suffering from pneumonia and that nothing could be done but wait for time to take its course.

Both doctors that saw her [the one in a@e and the one at medical assessment centre] are in need of a course in bedside manners as[I think] people do not come to hospital for the pleasure of this but because they are sick

Thank you for letting us know about your wife's experience in A&E and I am sorry that this was not as you would have expected.

I am sure that the team would like to follow up with you on the issues that you raise.

I would encourage you to contact me at jessica.bush@nhs.net Jessica Bush, Head of Engagement and Patient Experience
