"Rude consultant"

About: Scarborough General Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

(as the patient),

Consultant was very abrupt and showed little interest in my illness. Spent the whole consultation (all of 5 minutes) in his chair and did not explain possible reasons/consequences of my hearing issues. When I explained that I was retired (I’m in my 40s), he was surprised that I was going through the NHS and that I must be rich! I was lost for words.

My appointment for hearing test and further consultation has now been cancelled twice by the hospital and I have will of waited over 6 months between consultations.
