The standard of care that my Dad is receiving is fantastic and I have nothing but praise for the staff that are working in understaffed demanding wards . I am however disappointed in the public toilets which are nothing but disgusting . I have been visiting the hospital every day for three weeks and use the toilets on the ground floor as apart from one toilet on the 7th floor this is the only ones I have found . On a regular basis there is no toilet roll , the floor is filthy , no soap in the dispensers and main door handle disgusting . On walking in the main entrance the hand sanitizer with the fancy nurse telling us how important to cleanse has been empty for four days . The lifts are often very dirty . So people traveling in them then bring this dirt onto the ward they are visiting .
I am also disappointed that despite a recorded message at the outside entrance stating this is a non smoking area patients flout the rules with oxygen masks and drips to have a crafty cigarette something needs to be done about this as this does not project a good image of DRI .
