"Emergency visit to A&E plus follow up..."

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford) / Accident and emergency

To say thank you and appreciation for the attention shown to me by all the Nurses, Doctors, and all the team firstly in A&E on the 27.12.16 when dealing with my emergency problem including getting a CT scan performed quickly especially on such a busy night. Followed by the attention given by the Surgeon and their team with an operation which revealed other complications which they proceeded to correct. All the staff in the I.T Unit then King's B ward who looked after me with such professional care, kindness and understanding under busy circumstances. On discharge everything was explained about after care and on the 11.1.17 I had a follow up appointment at the SEAU dept this also was very satisfactory.The only comment I would make is not about the staff but about some of the general state of toilets, bathroom and repair of certain items whilst it is appreciated it is difficult to maintain such a building but in one of the toilets the hot tap did not work and in another one the tap was dripping all the time, also some of the beds electronics failed to work so the staff were having to operating these manually. Overall the William Harvey deserves a high rating. Thank you again for everything you did

Thank you for letting us know about your experience of the hospital from A&E through to your discharge from Kings B ward.

I am sorry that the facilities were not up to scratch - as you have indicated, with a busy hospital it is difficult to keep on top of everything.

However, we also have an excellent maintenance team and as soon as these problems are brought to their attention, they do their very best to fix the item as soon as possible.
