I came in Friday for a shoulder operation and the level of care and support provided by one member of staff was amazing. The member o9f staff helped me to get dressed, brought me tissue when I sneezed, got me a sandwich and a hot drink. They kept me company when sat alone unattended for a long time after my operation. I was some what shocked how the other nurses spoke to them as they were not friendly and patient focused. After the member of staff left their shift (they actually offered to wait and help me carry my bags). I was left for a long time without any update on when I could leave, I was given no prescription and it took hours to get the needle removed from my hand which was painful. The 5 ratings for staff and dignity only apply to this member of staff the others would have got a lot lower!! Otherwise the operation went well the consultant was lovely as was the aneasetist. And the person who took me to theatre was really reassuring. Thank you
"Massive thank you to a member of staff."
