"A & e"

About: Warwick Hospital / General surgery

I visited the a & e department on a Sunday afternoon. The reception staff were fantastic. Didn't have to wait long to be seen by triage nurse who gave me pain killers and I waited for the nurse to see me. I was taken for an x-ray. Here I was left in the middle of an empty corridor and told someone will be with you. ( I was in a wheelchair as I couldn't walk) The radiologist came and actually commented on me being in the middle of the corridor! After the x-ray was taken the radiographer took me back to a waiting area. The nurse who had seen me originally came back and said nothing was broken and they organise crutches as I couldn't put any weight in my foot ( was told I'd torn ligaments). I was then passed onto someone who gave me the crutches, told me I'd soon get the hang of them. Then told to put my shoe and sock on and then go through that door and you are free to go (neither would go on as by this time my foot was like a balloon) I was given a leaflet about crutches no other paperwork. I have since had to go back to another a & e sept as I was getting severe pins and needles in my foot. Only to be told after another x-ray I had actually broken 2 bones. I will never go back to Warwick a & e dept again.
