A cat bite to my hand was beginning to cause me problems and I knew I needed antibiotics. I was trying hard not to impose on the currently beleaguered NHS, but my GP practice was unable to help. Redness was creeping up my arm so time to seek help. I left home at 6.00pm and was back again by 6.45pm! I had been called in to see the Nurse Practitioner within minutes for booking in. Their examination of the injury and their questioning were professional, kind and understanding and they provided me with the antibiotics I needed - and a special plaster to help draw out the infection. I'm on the road to recovery now - my only question is, why don't more people access this excellent service instead of waiting hours in A&E? If in doubt, try it out!
