I attended Grantham A&E with severe abdominal pains! I was seen for triage within 5 minutes and was seen by the doctor very quickly after! Blood tests and CT scan were arranged and a diagnosis soon followed! The excellent A&E doctor made sure I had as much pain relief as possible along with anti sickness medicine! I was sent to the ambulatory unit where the care was also excellent while transfer to Urology at Boston was being arranged! Due to a major bed problem at Boston this was deemed impossible so it was arranged for the urology consultant to see me at Grantham the next day as he was visiting for an out patient clinic! I was later transferred to EAU where once again I was well looked after and treatment ordered by Boston urology was started! The Consultant saw me first thing the next day and after follow up blood tests to recheck kidney function I was discharged at 17. 00 hrs with follow up treatment arranged! Thank you to all staff involved particularly the young A&E doctor who monitored my progress throughout and the Boston consultant who altered his schedule to help me! I feel I must mention 1 negative point namely a four hour wait for medication on discharge! Please do not allow this unit to close I could never have got to Lincoln or Boston in such bad pain! ! Thank you again
