About: University Hospital Ayr / Endoscopy

My husband went into Ayr hospital  to have his dialysis line replaced. I took him in to hospital after his dialysis in the evening and there was no bed for him and he was taken down to endoscopy day care for the night.

The nurses didn't even get out of their seat to show us where to go just pointed. I took his pyjamas out of the bag and lay them on the bed, when I was leaving I told the nurses this and also that his medication was in his bag.

Went back next day to collect him and noticed his pyjamas were still in their folds and checked his meds and realised they hadn't been given.

This is the second time I have made my complaint on this site and apart from 1 email have heard nothing!

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear rcolgan,

I am sorry that your expectations by posting on PO were not met. In the process of investigating your situation, I was informed by a senior manager that this was being handled by them and I was therefore I was no longer required to progress with it.

In hindsight, I should have made that clear on a follow-up post so you were aware of this and I am so sorry I did not do so.

I hope you are satisfied with the outcome overall and I also hope that you and your husband are keeping well.
