"It is really important that the staff talk to me and give me one to ones."

About: Locked & Specialist Rehab / Spencer North

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I am on Spencer North. The alarms are always going and people are always kicking off. There is never enough staff and patients talk about you behind your back. The staff are lovely; helpful and kind and they always have time to talk to me. It is really important that the staff talk to me and give me one to ones. Seeing my family matters. I had a home visit two days after boxing day. This made me feel very happy so family is really important. I had a buffet, opened my Christmas presents and gave my family their Christmas presents, I loved it as I see their faces and their smiles. its important to see smiles this is important and this is what matters to me. Staff Listening matters to me too.

I am sorry you feel the alarms go off frequently and we will look into this going forward for you. We are continually looking at staffing to ensure you have the right number of staff, skill mix of staff and the right support going forward but unfortunately sometimes staff can get poorly or something can stop them working at short notice. We will continue to monitor this going forward.

It is lovely to hear about your Christmas and how exciting it was for you. We understand the importance of family contact and having leave where possible to see them is fantastic.

I am glad to hear that staff support you well and listen to you when you need some extra support, I wish you all the luck going forward in your treatment.
