"Birth of Child"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I went into labour and we attended the maternity ward. Although the place was extremely busy when we arrived we were seen straight away and asked to wait.

We had to wait on Ward 27 before I went into full labour the next day and back onto the mat unit. All the midwifes and staff of the ward and unit were fantastic especially our midwife who helped me through labour in the morning.

The after care and also community midwife have since been brilliant and we cannot thank them all enough. Not sure if names are allowed however particular thanks to our midwife Stephanie on the labour, after care Julie and Caroline - ward 27. our community midwife Claire thorough out the labour.

Two things that could be improved are more single rooms on the ward and T.V on the ward.

Thank you so much for taking the time to provide extremely positive feedback about your recent experience and the care you received from our maternity services.

We will make sure your compliments are shared with staff in those areas.

We have also shared your comments with the team overseeing the facilities in the Maternity Unit regarding single rooms and televisions on the ward.

Best wishes to you and your family.
