At my annual review for my coeliac disease, the consultant analysed my bloods and other symptoms and decided to act upon my haemoglobin and vitamin deficiency fluctuations. He spoke through all his decisions and rationale for doing so, and asked if this was agreeable to me and took his time to explain it all to me despite it being a lot of information.
If all consultants and NHS staff could do this, it would be great. So nice to have a listening ear compared to my GP. When I made enquiries to my GP about all my symptoms and blood test abnormalities, I was told: "You have coeliac, it happens. " Wrong. A coeliac following a Gluten free diet, like myself, should have normal bloods. At least the gastroenterologist is listening, thanks once again.
