"Appointment problems getting son seen"

About: Charles Clifford Dental Hospital / Paediatric dentistry

(as a relative),

I am going round and round in a circle with this service. From Charles Clifford Hospital, to the children's hospital and my own dentist.

I have a two year old that has various health problems which have contributed to teeth problems. I've been trying to get him help since October. I was told some of his teeth would be taken out the end of December to the beginning of January, now I am told the end of February. So he's left in pain and struggling to eat.

The staff on reception when you ring Charles Clifford are very rude. I was put on hold whilst I was still talking to them and spoken to in a very rude manner, so unhelpful. When you have another child that is disabled and a lot of phone calls and things to sort this is not helpful at all. I wasn't rude to them and I would appreciate being spoken to politely and professionally.

My sons appointment was cancelled last minute due to staff illness which I appreciate can't always be helped. Then no one told me they had booked my son in for later on in the week and sent me a letter out the day before the appointment, this was received on the day of the appointment after the appointment time. Surely someone could have called me and asked if I could come to this appointment?

To make matters worse I have phoned to reschedule another appointment and got nowhere, told there's no more until march and my own dentist has to deal with him. Then to add further insult they've sent a letter to myself and my dentist saying I've failed to take my son to his appointment so my dentist now needs to see him.

I've phoned again, a support agency have also called for me and I just get nowhere. I feel like my only option left for my son is to pay privately. Something which we have already had to do previously because my GP and Sheffield children's hospital failed to diagnose my sons medical problems dispite several admissions.

I have lost faith. All I am is a mother wanting to stop my son's pain but it feels like I am banging my head against the wall.
