I had bunion surgery and toe recorrection 4 weeks ago.
The staff on Daisy ward during the day were excellent as was the consultant and aneathesist.
My blood pressure was very low after the op but both the consultant and aneathesist checked on me before going home.
Unfortunately the evening staff were not so attentive.
They told me I had to give myself injections for 14 days and for someone who doesn't like needles I was quite worried but they told me not to be silly and made me inject myself.
At this time I was still very groggy and they didn't really explain how to do it.
The medication was left on my bed in a bag, no explanation on the best way to take this and the list of what to take didn't match what was on the boxes I had to call in to check. This is the only reason I have not given a higher score.
10 mins with the patient and a relative explaining the aftercare would have been ideal.
I can't fault the rest of the staff they have been more than helpful.
I am having some issues with the outcome but I am hoping these will be rectified soon.
