Urology problems are very common in men over 50 like me. Once under the care of this dept. it is like a production line. Appointments for procedures are sent but there is no way for the patient to find out why a particular procedure has been ordered. I was given a pointless Xray and general anaesthetic procedure that I knew would be fruitless, but when the appntmnt arrived I tried but could not find out why this had been ordered or influence it in any way. So I went with the flow. After the GA, the surgeon appeared at the curtain for 15 seconds maximum and was extremely curt with me. In 12 months of outpatients appntmnts ( for which there is up to a 2 month wait), the only improvement happened by accident rather than design.
If my condition worsens to the point where an operation is inevitable, I shall definitely not be agreeing to have it here.
