My first operation was cancelled at the end of the day having gone without food since the night before and little to drink.

However, it was explained that the previous patient was much worse than expected hence the delay.

No problem with this - didn't want a surgeon operating at the end of a very hard and long day anyway! 2nd attempt went ahead - hysterectomy for cancer and had a 2 day stay.

The treatment was first class . I spend one day/night (as expected) in HDU and then one day/night on Eden Ward.

Both wards were extremely clean and the bathrooms on Eden were faultless. Only complaint was with the food but when catering for so many people with different dietary needs and different tastes it must be a nightmare.

The staff were all very helpful and nothing seemed too much trouble.

3 weeks later back in again as an emergency with gallstones.

Transferred from West Cornwall to Treliske and arrived at 12.30 am.

Staff all ready to settle me in and seen by a doctor within a very short space of time.

Waiting to go back in for gallbladder removal.

Both surgeons were very helpful and fully explained .

Couldn't fault them!
