With health centres around the North West varying widely in facilities, appearance, staffing, parking, appointment waiting times and more, we are extremely lucky to have this marvellous facility right here at the centre of our otherwise rather deprived area. We all know that the NHS is struggling to maintain services against a backdrop of financial constraints and yet we have so much here to feel lucky about. The NHS lacks consistency in what is on offer from one town to other towns throughout the region and nationally; somehow, we drew the long straw when this facility replaced its depressing and run down predecessor 250yds away. Waiting times are getting slightly longer but we still get to see good doctors and nurses within a short time and, if urgent, the same day. The waiting areas are comfortable and clean though I'd like to hear some quiet music at all times and some reading matter other than just brochures about illnesses. There can be confusion about contact details for the various ancilliary services eg podiatry, dental, audiology, etc.. There should be a clear list of telephone numbers on display for services which do not. operate from the main number as there is some opacity in that area. But these are minor points and the general state of our clinic is excellent and deserves praise. I could not believe my eyes when I saw that somebody had awarded 1 star....were they looking for the chip shop by mistake? Keep up the good work in spite of dwindling funds.
"A lot to be grateful for"
