"~Excellent Care in the Breast Care Unit"

I recently had the shock of being diagnosed with breast cancer, this could have been very frightening if it had not been for the excellent care that I had from my Consultant and their team. As soon as I was diagnosed the lovely Breast Care nurse explained everything to me in a very sympathetic and clear manner. I then had a number of tests, none of which were painful and was then booked for the mastectomy. Despite my concern, I woke up with no pain and was looked after brilliantly on the 23 hour ward by some very caring nurses. I was discharged after one night and had subsequent check ups with the nurse and Consultant who were very reassuring. The operation went well and I can hardly believe that I have not needed painkillers or further treatment. I cannot praise the unit and the care that I have had highly enough!
