"The experience was fantastic"

About: Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital

(as the patient),

I was taken in for an induction when I has full term +10 days. The induction process was started within an hour of being settled in to my room.

The midwifes were extremely caring and kept my husband and I completely up to speed throughout the time I spent in the hospital.

After 2 full painful days of a failed induction, the decision was made to perform a level 3 emergency c-section. I didn't have a long time to think about the surgery before I was taken to theatre, but all of the medical staff were extremely calming and the experience was fantastic.

Myself and my husband were together through the c-section and it was a very quick process. We were in hospital for 2 nights after my son was born and we couldn't fault the support we received and the team at Cramlington.

Dear Proud Mum,

Many congratulations on the birth of your beautiful baby boy.

I'm imagining that he must be such a joy for you to hold now that he is finally here! Whilst I'm sure he was worth every bit of that wait, it sounds like you had quite a tough time in the process?

All the more important then that you were kept well informed throughout and that your care was supportive, kind and efficient. It's lovely to hear that it was faultless from your point of view. Thanks for giving us the opportunity to pass this kind feedback on to the team.

I hope your recovery from surgery is going well and that you are able to be gentle with yourself whilst caring for that precious bundle of yours.
