"Late night appointments"

About: East Surrey Hospital

(as the patient),

I was referred for two MRI scans by a consultant neuro surgeon. I received the appointments fairly speedily, at 18. 15 and 18. 45. I am 74 years old and the hospital is roughly a 90 minute bus journey from my home. At this time of the year it meant the journey in both directions would be in the dark.

Quite honestly, to fix appointments at that time of the day for an elderly patient is totally thoughtless. Fortunately, on learning the MRI dept was running 30 minutes behind, the lady whose appointment was before mine offered to stay and gave me a lift home.
