My dad was in ward 13 for 3 weeks before he passed away, The nurses on the ward were very approachable, patient and calm with us and nothing no matter what is was we asked was a problem to them. There was one student nurse called Jamie who got to know my dad that well that he realised that on one occasion he knew there was something that just wasn't right with him and he alerted the nurses and Drs who managed to stabilise my Dad. When I came to visit after it he explained to me what happened. The Junior Dr came out and then told me. I did not take in what they were saying to me as the bedside manner they portrayed to me was very direct, cold and uncaring so I did not take the information in. I then asked to speak to Jamie again and he sat me down very calmly and explained everything back to me in a nice patient calm manner which enabled me to understand it better. We always knew when Jamie was on shift as my dad always looked so content and comfortable as he knew exactly what my dad liked as he took that time to know and understand his needs. I watched him with all the other patients and he was the same to them very caring patient and direct when needed he will be an absolute asset to any hospital that will be lucky enough to get him
"An excellent nurse looked after my dad"
