I spent approximately 9 weeks in Highbury Hospital due to my Bi-Polar illness. During this time I recieved a lot of support from the Occupational Therapy team. The OT team work really hard to engage and help Patients during their time on the various wards.
For me personally I spent many valuable hours with the team and loved the activities I got involved with which included;
Art classes (painted various Shapes like sail Boats and Flowers that I was able to take away), Coffee hub (able to have a drink and converse with the group) Music classes (able to listen to CD's or play musical instruments) Sport class (1 on 1 with Bash or time spent over at Mellish Gym. Pizza making and Breakfast cooking were both fantastic.
Even outside of actual 'classes' the guys would take the time to talk and be very welcoming. The whole team were fantastic. The following people are who I spent most of my time with- Michelle, Eileen, Felix and Bash.
I'd like there to be more groups and more occupational therapists available.
