I had an arm operation to insert a metal plate in 2014. All was well until June 2016 when some pains started so I saw my GP who referred me to the fracture clinic at East Surrey hospital. I had an appointment in September including x rays. The doctor I saw felt nothing was wrong at the fracture site so ordered an ultrasound examination. After six long weeks of waiting, I chased up the ultrasound exam and finally got some dates in November two months after the original appointment.
Strange to say the letter stated it would be a scan of my shoulder although there is no pain in my shoulder.
The pain can be quite bad especially at night when I move over in bed it hurts.
I think the hospital has not done well in solving my medical problem. Why has the hospital taken so long to arrange an ultrasound appointment and why am I under the care of a different consultant when the surgeon who performed the operation in 2014 is still working at the hospital and would be the obvious person to take on my case? ? ?
