About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Day Surgery

(as the patient),

I attended Hairmyres Hospital on a Saturday 11am for a day surgery appointment and was home that evening. All the staff from the Pre-Med team in Wishaw General to the waiting list admin staff who met the target of within 12 weeks, the day surgery staff at HM from the porter to doctors and especially the nurses were great very professional and caring, also mostly understanding as been many years since a hospital stay visit. Also being on a Saturday I had family to help and it did not interrupt my work pattern. I feel they are doing a great job. Well done.

We strive to be a person centered organisation and by having weekend access to these services, it just makes life a little easier for our patients and relatives.

I'm really pleased you found the whole service, from Pre Assessment at Wishaw to the Day Surgery at Hairmyres Hospital a pleasant one, despite any Hospital visit being a potential worry.

Targets are always a concern these days however the most important aspect is our patient care and experience -I'm delighted we managed to give you a positive experience throughout our services.
