"Bilateral nasal polyp operation"

About: Macclesfield District General Hospital / Ear, Nose and Throat

Having read horror stories on the internet, I was extremely apprehensive and nervous about the nasal and sinus operation. However, from arrival at the hospital and reporting to the Day Case Unit, the nurses immediately put me at ease and dealt with my induction in a friendly manner. The pre op discussion with the Anaesthetist and Surgeon were reassuring, and I felt that I was being looked after by a professional team of medics. My surgeon was brilliant and for the first time in years I can now breathe through my nose. If you read some of the blogs on the internet from people who have had this type of operation where they complain about the pain and other complications they experienced, you may be put off having surgery. My experience following the operation is that the pain is very minor and the bleeding minimal. Don't be put off with adverse comments. The whole team from arrival to discharge on the Ear Nose and Throat department are an absolute credit the the hospital and the NHS. Thank you everyone.
