"Hysterectomy"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

I had hysterectomy in April 2016 at Sunderland Royal Hospital. I was on ward D47 was was well looked after by everyone who i was in the care of from anaesthetic staff, my consultant who cared for me fantastically, and they were friendly, down to earth and explained to me everything so clearly, and made sure i fully understood what was going on, they also leading upto surgery listened and took on board my thoughts and feelings. The nursing staff in recovery (even though i didnt see/remember them) i remember the reasurance the nurse was giving me and aware of the kindness shown they were very caring, compassionate and treat me with dignity and repect ensuring my comfort and safety. Back on the ward the nursing staff were caring, understanding and took time to listen and explain what they were doing and why etc. I found them all very approachable and they would come and ask how i was and they couldn't do enough. I was going through a personal difficult time as i was going through a very close family loss that same week. They all were extremley understanding even through all that! I thank so much for everyone of you, my life has changed healthwise for the better and i have now the quality of life i could have just dreamt about. The NHS in my case really needs to know how thankful i am for it, i appreciate all the care ive received!!
