I recently gave birth at the Waterlily Birthing Centre and cannot recommend it enough. My first son was a water birth and I really wanted to have this experience again so was very pleased to find out that the Queen Elizabeth had a birthing centre (we've only just moved to the area). Upon arrival, I was greeted with warmth and caring, every single person I came in to contact with from midwife to food service people were so lovely and nice. I felt so looked after - water was offered, toast was brought to me, I was listened to, etc. It's often the little things that help make an experience and everything about the day I was there made it a great one. The room was lovely - great lighting, fresh, clean, great decor, etc. It was comfortable and very private. I loved being able to have the option of the pool as well as a large bean bag for comfort. The midwife I had was amazing - they were such a great coach! I had a good first experience with my first birth at another hospital but this experience was just about 10 times better - they were really there for me and helped me towards the end when I felt like I couldn't go on! If you have a low risk pregnancy and you want to try something like a water birth, definitely give the Waterlily a look - you will not be disappointed.
"Fantastic birth experience in the Waterlily Centre"
